Statement of Regulatory Clarification

Many ICF members recently received confusing communications that allude to a government-appointed entity to oversee the international regulation of coaching. We wish to clarify that no such entity officially exists and coaching is generally not regulated in most areas of the world.

ICF is committed to meaningful professional self-regulation and we are specifically recognized among coaching professionals worldwide for establishing a professional code of ethics and standards for coaching.
