Young Leader Honoree: Dr. Paras, MCC
The ICF Young Leader Award celebrates coach practitioners under the age of 40 who are poised to lead ICF and the coaching profession into the future. Honorees embody the core values of ICF and represent a diverse community of emerging thought leaders. This year, ICF celebrated the first class of Young Leader Award honorees during the 2018 ICF Midwest Region Coaches Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. In the coming weeks, we will profile each of this year’s honorees here on Coaching World.
Dr. Paras, MCC (India), is a coach and coach trainer who helps clients transform their lives by taking a direct coaching approach. For Paras, coaching is a way of life.
“I’d never label it as a career. This is my life goal. I have the power to use coaching to rebuild lives—inspiring, empowering, motivating all the way. I show people that there is always an option in life. An option to improve, get better results and find happiness,” said Paras.
Dr. Paras describes coaching as a spiritual journey and a motivating factor in his life. He enjoys applying the psychological aspects of coaching.
“To me, the entire coaching process is a phenomenal experience, one wherein I bring greater awareness among people helping them to achieve the highest potential,” said Paras.
Dr. Paras believes that in the future, ICF will become an entity that will bring a massive change to professional thinking. He believes that especially as technology progresses, so will ICF.
“Technology will thus add value, raising the bar of coaching sessions, empowering anyone and everyone across the globe to connect with ease,” he said.
As a young leader, Paras said he feels he has a responsibility to transform and inspire every person he partners with. Paras founded a group coaching nonprofit organization, called Tava-Mitram. Tava-Mitram serves to coach and empower less-fortunate citizens.
“I believe my role is to set an example and we must be the change we wish to see in this world. By acting upon my ideas and beliefs, I aim to stay true to the Young Leader Award bestowed upon me, spreading more optimism along the way,” said Paras.
